wearable technology workshop

wearable technology workshop

Wearable technology applications for footwear are increasingly popular as a field of interest for companies in all market segments. Smart textiles are fabrics developed to allow seamless integration with electronic elements like microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. Wearable electronics gained lots of attention because they are becoming more accessible to the non-technical crowd thanks to recent open source and educational approach.
During the Italian edition of the workshop you will be provided hands-on experience by the WeMake  gurus, Zoe Romano and Giorgia Petri. The workshop allows to use soft physical computing materials and coding with Arduino software. You can create your own textile sensor and connect it with a microcontroller to explore its behaviour. During the last day, you will prototype an interactive shoe as a work-group exercise.
