Waalwijk is a historic town in The Netherlands that you might have never heard of, yet it is one of the main hubs for the footwear business in Europe, with over 250 footwear related companies located in the region, which are designing and selling shoes for brands from around the world. Without even knowing you might actually be wearing shoes right now that were designed here! Waalwijk is situated about an hour drive from Amsterdam and half an hour from Eindhoven.



How to reach Waalwijk from abroad

To reach Waalwijk you can fly to Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) and take a direct train to Den Bosch ('s Hertogenbosch). From there you take bus 300, 302 or 136 to bus stop Waalwijk Vredesplein; from there it is a 9 minute walk to SLEM. Total travel time is about 90 minutes.

If you come from another EU country, it might be cheaper to fly to Eindhoven Airport. From there you take bus 401 to Eindhoven Central Station. You then take a direct train to Tilburg or to Den Bosch ('s Hertogenbosch). From either station you can take bus 300, 302 or 136 to bus stop Waalwijk Vredesplein; from there it is a 9 minute walk to SLEM. Total travel time is about 90 minutes.
