And there he was... our Prime Minister, followed by minister Verhagen, minister Cramer, various diplomats and security officials. Corine inviting Maxim Verhagen to dance and Peter together with Jan Peter and Maxim made for nice snapshots. Both men reacted spontaneously to other requests as well. The photos made on September 13, which can be seen on our website, show how really fine Bruno’s idea was to spell out NY NL with the wind nomads, and... on behalf of the festival, Joop Mulder (Oerol organizer and artistic director of the New York Island Festival) presented Mr. Balkenende with an A3-sized poster. Now that’s great PR for SLeM.
Bruno handed our beautiful book to Verhagen, Cramer and Balkenende. Later, I gave them the catalogue too. Wonderful!! Afterwards, the organizers David Binder, Joop Mulder and Terts Brinkhoff were also given the lovely photo! All the work that Theo, Floris , Bruno and Bastiaan put in to get this finished on time is truly appreciated.
The security officer actually enjoyed joke "I’ll keep an eye out while you go to the toilet"; the same jovial impression Balkenende and company made...

and it was already a beautiful day. After last Sunday and yesterday, the number of visitors today was slightly disappointing, but only slightly.
Once again "Stijle Want" opened the day in their customary, funny way; later on Iris played the piano. We were met by the superb sounds from a mobile grand piano and this 22 year-old beauty’s  conservatory background. Brigitte and I served tea alongside the baby grand, where the cow and Jacob could once again been seen. It was a busy day in another way for a number of us. Onno in particular, as well as Peter and I, worked hard to make the crates in which the wind nomads will be placed after today ready for the journey back to Amsterdam.
The end of the festival approaches, but not my messages.
Until the next time, until SLeM.
