Sunday morning, Governors Island
Bruno Doedens

It’s already warm on the island. Large trees and the wind offer pleasant cooling.
Visitors are pouring in from New York, 5 minutes away with the ferry. A day in the park on Sunday, a break from the big city. Governors Island is a unique spot, very green and peaceful, with the Manhattan skyline in the background.  The New Island Festival will open on this island next Thursday. A Dutch party for New Yorkers. Half of the festival’s Dutch participants have arrived. Construction is in full swing.
We’ve been through the last points about the placement of the Windnomaden with the organization. We start setting up tomorrow, they are going to stand next to the old fort. A really beautiful spot. We had to do some intensive improvising to adapt the constructions because they can’t go into the ground in this location (archeological site). Of course we made a prototype, but we are still curious to see how the Windnomaden landscape will look like this time...
To be continued...
