Zand van SLeM – Terschelling 2011
The poetic landscapes of SLeM – 2005/2009
Display in Hotel Schlyge – West-Terschelling
In 2011, after five years of controversial ‘Temporary Landscapes’ including Jaarringen and WindNomaden, SLeM landed again at Terschelling. For Oerol 2011, SLeM develops a film installation ‘as landscape display’: poetic documentaries of the previous projects, which were never exhibited at Oerol before. The sandy landscapes of SLeM- Dansend Woud-2005, Jaarringen-2006, Zomersprookjes-2007, Opdrift-2008 and WindNomaden-2009 are brought together and magnified in a unique form. SLeM was invited as guest in Hotel Schlyge at Terschelling, for the performance of the film installation. The tremendous basement functioned as the temporary atelier of SLeM. In December 2011, the film installation was again presented but now for the inhabtants of Terschelling, who had no time during the Oerol festival.
